Mountain Valley Country Store is not like any feed store you have ever been in before. Owners, Chip and Lorraine Rainwater, realized a need, for a place that not only dealt with the needs of pets, and companion and farm animals, but a place that offered the owners of these animals a place to shop for men and women's clothing, gifts, wild bird feeds and supplies, lawn and garden, farm supplies, and more. Working with Purina Mills, the Rainwaters spent three years planning and building this new and exciting shopping destination.
Mountain Valley opened in February, 2005 in their new, state of the art, facility that features over 14,000 square feet under one roof. They have gained a reputation for having the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff in the area. With over 25 years of breeding and showing World Class Quarter Horses and Champion Great Dane Dogs, the Rainwaters offer a wealth of experience and knowledge dealing with horses,pets and other companion animals.
The ladies clothing department is one of the store's largest departments and offers ladies a most unique shopping experience. Customers drive from as far away as Asheville and Atlanta just to shop here. Our buyers travel to places like Denver and Las Vegas to bring our customers products that you will not find in other area stores. Although our product line-up is constantly changing, some of our main clothing lines include Carhartt, Petrol, Wrangler, Christine Alexander, Not Your Daughter's Jeans, Scully, Cripple Creek, Spanner, Christine Phillipe, and more.
Located in beautiful Western North Carolina, just 3 miles north of the Georgia/North Carolina border, we are just 90 miles north of Atlanta. We hope you will take the time to come visit us. We are open 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday-Saturday and on Sundays 12pm to 4pm.
