Lorraine & Chip Rainwater started Mountain Valley Country Store in 2002. Lorraine and Chip wanted to offer a quality shopping experience with a great selection of products and services to the residents of the area.

In February 2005, the store was moved to a state of the art facility. Mountain Valley Country Store has been listed in the 150 top equine retailers in the nation. We are a Certified Expert Purina Feed Dealer and a North Carolina Certified Chick dealer.

We make and sell "Sweet Lorraine's" homemade fudge here in the store. We offer 16 different flavors daily.

Our level of expertise in the horse and pet industry sets us apart from the competition. Over 25 years of breeding, owning and showing adds a wealth of knowledge for our customers. Both owners are multiple American Quarter Horse Association World Champions. Also the owner has been breeding and showing Great Dane dogs for 25 years including a multiple best in show dog and well as numerous national awards from the Great Dane Club of America including "Breeder of the Year" and 2-time National Futurity Winner.
